Getting the most out of Coalition Meetings
· Show up on time! SPC values your time, and all effort is made to keep coalition meetings within the 1 ½ hr. time frame. To achieve this, it is important that members arrive on time to get the maximum benefits from the full agenda at SPC meetings.
· Keep it together! Keep all meeting notes, minutes and handouts from previous meetings on your SPC Binder. This helps ensure that you will be prepared for discussion, and have the resources you receive at your fingertips.
· Invite others to come with you! The more people who are at the table, the more productive this coalition can be. By attending meetings and bringing someone else along, you are expanding the coalition’s connectivity and deepening its ability to create positive change.
· Speak up! The coalition thrives on your contributions and the unique perspective of each person at the table. By contributing your ideas, thoughts, and opinions, you can inspire others and initiate momentum for the group.
· Sign up! Whether it’s a phone call or two to do outreach, spending a few hours volunteering through SPC, or contributing to organizational planning, there are a variety of ways that all members of the community can contribute to Coalition efforts.
